SUN, THE KNIGHT OF THE DAY

Knight of the day still ablaze in the west
Putting your shiny steel gauntlet to rest
Late is the hour to brandish a shield
That mirrors your tangerine glow on the field

You cannot challenge the opal white moon
Not to rise in your place that her face will consume
So lovely her countenance, bathed in your light
Behind a white veil made of mist of the night

And she will awaken you just before dawn
When indigo shadows are stretched on the lawn
Do not e’er seduce such a princess as she
For your power is great but much weaker than He

Remember your place in the great Milky Way
That God is the King of the knight and the day
