Doesn't take long for the Celsius to fall
to halt a run and start a crawl;
once salt has been tasted and I reach the top
will there be a moment to voluntarily stop...

or will there be supercontols across the equator
and economic sprees to out hunt the gator
doesn't take long for a sprint to become a shuffle
to consume a last plate to worry about the truffles.

May take a moment to build an ivory tower
or years upon years to wash it and scour
cause fresh dirt cakes on heels as one idles outside
while men at the top are so immersed in self-pride...

Doesn't take long for the mercury to fall
nor take long for a man to grow tall;
yet once his run turns into a crawl
will he stay happy or commence to bawl?
