Dispensable
Disposable
Not needed any more
These words have echoed in my head
Since you walked out the door.

Inferior
Exterior
I’ll admit I possess
But if I were given the chance
I’d show you happiness

But she’s your need
So as I plead
I see your ears are deaf
I’ve tossed aside my pride and now
I’m kneeling here, bereft

To contemplate
My lonely fate
Devoid of hope and trust
It’s hell to go on without dreams
But now I know I must

Resignation
And frustration
Will be my daily guides
Until the day (if it should come)
When this heartache subsides

Geez suthern I feel the need to give you a big hug...
You have captured the feelings after a rejection all too well. If this is from your heart I hope you will heal soon and realize how special and valuable you truly are. At the very least you know you are loved and wanted here!

I guess one consolation is that the heartache will subside...the other would be that this is an powerful write, even in its quiet sadness, it shouts with emotions

sea: That sounds like a good idea to me... it's been far too long since you've been around. *S* Thank you for your kind comments... while rejection and I are old pals, I'm just playing with words. *S* And whether PIP loves and wants me or not... y'all are stuck with me! *S*

jellybeans: Subtlety has never been my strong point. *S* Thank you so much, dear lady... I know you know more about heartache than I ever want to know. *S*

southern, I'm known to be cut and dry, but also possess a big heart...so in this I'm going to take the liberty to say...if by chance things would have worked out, perhaps it wouldn't have been right...and there would be a whole lot of other hurt and despair...so if this is about you, or a friend...think of the fact that nobody did anything wrong, it was that you were wrong for each other, and perhaps your wearing the better shoes for a very long and interesting walk into the future?  Yes?  Hugs to you.

Lee: Your big heart is definitely showing... and I appreciate your words so much! *S*

I was looking for film this morning and found words instead... my little slips of paper are everywhere. *S* Those words were written during dark times... but this poem is mostly word play... I'm more the lock onto his ankle, refuse to let go, and hope he tires of dragging me type. *G*

Hey suthern lady,
I was so glad to read in your replies that this isn't
the way you are feeling now. I am sooooo glad
that it's not!! And, about the word play in the poem....it's great!!
I love the rhyme scheme that you used in this
one, too. Really awesome writing, my friend.

Oh, there be far too many of us who have felt this way at one time or another in our lives! I was pleased to read in one of your responses that those times have passed for you!  ~ as they too have passed for me!

You are one big, beautiful emoticon! You write with such feeling and always manage to strike a chord in the hearts of your faithful fans!

Ah yes, I do know this feeling -- I've had it a few times and I've caused it a few times as well. But don't hang your head, Laura...there are many ways in which you're second to none. If they don't see 'em, it's their loss.

"Inferior

It has been my experience that anyone that intentionally tries to make another feel like that is incapable of being happy.

And I am thankful I am not them.

I enjoyed this more than you can know.

For me anyway, I have found that even when
I don’t think I’m writing about something I am
feeling personally, many times, there is at least
a little bit of truth tucked in there somewhere...

Big hugs to you Suthern if your actually not feeling this right now

And even bigger ones, if you are
