Electric sometimes defines those dark nights
Summer of the cold child…
Rumor has it
Moonlight carries “The” real meaning
Could it be karma or simple luck?
Or just a tad of both?
Are we led by settling lightning bugs?
The ones that never travel
I strangely, always wished for a little more?

I wonder if you’re there, soul mate.
Rush hour is slitting hairs
I’m still focusing on millions of stars
While
The economy grows thinner
Thanks to convenience products
All seems crazy as bedbugs
Attacking everyone’s patriotism

And in this ghost town, I’m still waiting to score
Are my eyes looking in the state’s high court?
Or…is it simply, I couldn’t care less anymore?

I still see you fly by, catching a glimpse, still clueless
The fact that you bought a plane is no secret
First and foremost, winning was your amulet
Along with the younger generation

Rural areas are always calling me, reaching out they’re arms
Like a lover…soft…sweet
Why is there such a controversy over Passions?

I’m still reading my special education handbook
It’s pretty pathetic that you can’t voice words
No child should be left behind, it’s so inappropriate
But then…who am I to judge?

I never thought my role as limited
Though, some moron’s take things to a whole new level
I’m a small town girl mining for brain power
Still believing in the mystics
Fighting over custody rights to my heart
Bad melodies shouldn’t endanger the species
I have little enthusiasm for crowds
And I’m still waiting on a freight train
That’s gonna take me beyond the clouds?
I've just uncrossed my fingers is all.

Lee J...while i was away and watching from the sidelines...your poetry and your special way of seeing things is what i missed most to reply to....now that i am back i can say that i love to see through your eyes...and the very interesting way you write...most people will not get your work...but you enthrall me with your style..it is so free..so different..but in a very nice way....you see things like frames of film..then convey it to paper/screen...your snapshots of life are a joy to me and i am sure to other members of PIP...thank you for your words...so glad i can tell you that again..please keep writing more....

Goldenrose.
