Go to sleep, Marsupial,
In top branches the morning sun has warmed.

            Close your eyes,
            Pouch outside
            Until safe at night
            We’ll rise.

            Go to sleep
            Marsupial,
            Through ice age
            We’ve survived.

            Close your eyes,
            Long stretched love,
            Settle in
            God’s little  glove.

            Go to sleep,
            You have worth,
            My curling tailed
            Little Love.

Go to sleep,
Sleep away the coming light.

Can you tell I am a good bit noctural and somewhat diurnal, gone without sleep?!!!!  Now that I'm awake, I'm cracking up at this.   Who said to write down things in the middle of the night, anyway???

But if I didn't write in the middle of the night I might not write at all? *G*

LOL... thanks for the smiles. *G*

this was really enjoyable...perhaps you should consider a series of animal lullabys...seriously...

Thank you all for stolling around my yard in the wee hours.  I laughed at the thought that I had taken the voice of a Mama opposum, but on my way of work, I started thinking that it might be the beginning of writing and illustrating a child's book--got to do something when I retire!
Steavenr, you may have something there!  I've got a couple of ideas up my sleeve now, but who knows, a book of animal lullabies might be refreshing!   After your comment, my husband wants me to write something that depicts the swish, swishing of our cow's tails. Now, how do you put that to a lullaby.  Interesting dilemma!

Well that is surely a title and theme unkown to me. Sleep indeed little marsupial.
And beware headlights they are lights disaster.

Night Day what difference, if thou prefers the nocturnal fare thee well. Myself I too often get started on writing, painting, music finding the light has become dawn impending. Guess that makes me Triurnial

or better said (hopefully)
Acrostic comin your way

Time to work that third movement calls again
Right past midnight plentiful muses abound
I sip cooling tea deciding last canvas call
Usurps music moments only careful balance
Rule no paint touch instruments I admire
Now a powerful Plath quote suiting novel
Adding one to trilogy of paint brush
Last playback I keep promising writing

Now the third movement approaching done while
In just a moment the paint will be dry write
Gleaning fragments noticing time for work
Head out in sunrise another Triurnal Night

Where rainbow touches earth gentlest
glow twilight abounding promising
the Orchestra Will Play Tonight
