Stripped

I peel
back
each
layer
by layer
onion skin
of my
disappearing
heart

Each layer
Peeled
Slow and pained
With tears
Doesn’t diminish
The heart
Growing
With each serving
Of emotion

with a heart like yours
you’ll never run out of layers

It won't disappear, Helen.  It's just unfolding and shedding what it no longer needs.  Love will make it grow again.  Nice write, I felt it. ~K~

onions and tears go hand in hand ....

They are only
the dry
tattered
days
falling
away
from your
nourishing
soul
