Bluffing

Game face is on.
Bluffing comes easily
as I round the bend towards
another end
of the whatevers that cloud my mind
and force my hand
turning me outside in
until my skin hurts from the pull of it all.

Fear covers the pain that ties my arms
into the misery of my company.
So I imprison myself for now
remembering the best of the worst
and look towards the shadows of darkness
to soothe my soul.

Silent weavings, as the goodbyes swell
reaching my throat but failing to speak their piece.
So much to say that never reaches the tip of my tongue without twisting
into nonsense or excuses or...or...or
But never saying what is meant.
Game face is on and the bluffing continues
so all looks good on the outside
and I can walk ghostly through my days.

M

M,
I think I know.
I read you so many times and do not respond, thinking that I would be intruding . . .

Thank you, Barry...this is one of those "feeling sorry for myself" days..

Hope, yes...always needing to look like my life is fine for others...no matter what the cost emotionally. I think it is starting to get to the point where I even bluff myself into believing...while everything around me is on the descent.
hugs
M

Glad you enjoyed my words, Grover.

SAG, well if you know then you understand the mood swings that fear can partner you with. And you would never be intruding...responding or not. It is appreciated knowing you read me.

I should or could write of love...but I write as I live, and there is an awful lot of emptiness right now in my life and will be more to come in the future.
Thank you.
