Antics

Where are the antics flighty gay?
The ones that molded yesterday
Where is the nonsense fenced my head?
Those of day and not of bed

Where’s the strength powers this maw?
Spit in the wind and danced on the floor.
Oh where oh where is the power and awe
The blade and shield that challenge the door

Where is the shela with eyes gleaming sheen?
That played in the noon light on grasses of green
Where is my shield my sword and my horse?
Where is my lance my words of discourse?

They all have turned to gray and dismay
Left me shriveled and old in display
And all that’s left are dreams in the dust
And skeletons left in my attic to rust

So take me back to the days of yore
And let me be that fool once more.
Even if it were in seem
Even if it be in dream

Wake me not to yet explain
It is a dragon I have slain.

Yes I know what you mean Seymour I'm feeling it too with each day that passes. I really enjoyed this, just a chance to be careless again as when we were young. Well done Seymour.

I have these same questions at times Sy.
For a moment though I thought you had slayed Randy!!
How about a cup of Chai tea this late winter morn?

Yes Sir Knight of days of yore,
of valiant deeds of explore.
Of chivalrous thoughts displayed
in search of his chosen maid.

Write On Sir SY,  write on....

Oh Sy, just do what I do, and change the ol’ oil now and again

And maybe the fuel, and water pumps every so often...

Then again, I did put a whole new engine in
last month

And my transmission is starting to slip?

Oh... and my tires are getting bald, except the spare one,
that needs a little air let out!

Now my headlights are a little dim, and my left blinker
just lights up, but doesn’t blink

I think I blew a fuse?

But other then that...

Dang!  I still got another go round or so left...

Hang in there Sy

They’re getting 2, 3, even 400,000 miles
out of us ol jalopies now a days...

Just remember to use unleaded

Helps with the backfiring... ! ...

I should have known that with such a title, I'd enjoy both poem and responses. *S* Excellent work, my friend... and thanks for the smiles. *S*

You just inspired a poem title for me, Sy!  "The Neutral Liquidity Of Time"...  Thank you for a write to which I can relate, well before I'm "supposed to"...

Seymour, enjoyed the nostaliga -- wouldn't it be great if we could go back for visits sometimes?

Seymour, aren't memories great to have?
Then we can have good dreams.

Oh, to be young again....alas, if we turned back time....we would have to miss all the wonderful poems that you had written all this time, Sy...so dream of days of yore,if you must...but keep on writing. We love your special words. Youngatheart
