The hand withdrawn slowly as fingers graze
a lasting touch before remember’s maze,
As pockets jingle but a penny’s change
and the warmth once felt now distantly strange.

Tails, not chosen, lying silently still,
absorbing a moment of never will.
Breath expelled, a sigh becoming unheard,
lips lightly leave one solitary word.

Was heads the choice, the pick upon the loss?
A twirling cent, a mere tipped penny’s toss.
Or was a beat resounding ever strong
heard on the strum of this last journey’s song?

For in the end, upon the night’s arrive
of song’s once sung, that will or might survive
A coin shall fall in wait one welling tear
to join and lie upon the warm earth near.

(big angel hugs) Oh Barry, this is such a wonderful surreal expression of the heart, sweet friend, it's as if you meant to project the vision in slow-motion so we watch the coin slip from fingers to the sky then fall and chime like a pin needle against the pavement, where the chime you can hear the echo of approval or rejection from lips! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Barry, you know that I love the way you write.
One of these days, I will learn how to write this way.

Oh, for a penny's toss I'd risk it all
if only I knew she would take the call
