 In life's darkest pathways, there is a light, Among the rocks and thorns, a rose does bloom, Love that has withered and decayed, is now renewed and continues to grow, The seasons of life change, as we change with them, Their colors are beautiful, The world keeps turning and our lives keep burning, Amidst the hate and turmoil, how sad tis' would be, to be alone in thee, Among the paths we must walk, conversations we will talk, The gift of your friendship, it is an eternal gift, Like glass that is stained and broken, put together as a token, To remember and remind us of Gods' love and his kindness, It is the sunshine on a dark and dreary day, a beautiful rainbow showing its colors in May, Your friendship is a music makers dream, all parts play together to form a sweet sound in our ears, The roads we must travel together and the barriers to cross, All would be nothing, a loss,if... Your heart becomes broken by mistrust and friendship becomes more along the lines of lust, Then the beauty fades, like a flower, stained, it is , once a gift, now it is thrown away, For some selfishness of flesh, that will always decay, So remember the value of the gift You and I have been given, Never let us take for granted the beauty and love that is there, For we are brother and sister, always a child in Gods' love and tender care.
