Turning in circles,
Checking scents
Pheromones,
Perfume, cologne.
Cosmetic clothes
Hide nakedness
Of common dog,
And bitch. Latin rhythms
Change domestics quick
To wolf and fox;
When the band plays a tango.
*
Mile above the sea...
Buenos Aires..Montevideo.
Giddy in thin air;
Desire and atmosphere
(mid nineteenth century)
Swaying to the lusty beats
Of Spanish Argentines...
Morphed to New York
St Louis,
Chicago.
*
Moving back, then sideways...
Exposing a calf;
The slit of her dress
Shows pink of a thigh.
Blocking her leg
With-a leg, he can do
(If she tries to escape)
(called sacada) she fakes
At breaking away but...
Has no real mind to.
*
Tango means touch,
And so the pair follows
The titles instructions,
Like animals might.
The wild in their eyes
Is the trance of the rhythm,
Drenched-wet with sex-sweat
They move towards their lair.
*
end

Wow, yes Latin passion transferred from the dancing floor to the page, so eloquently that ... I can hear the music play in the background ...

I hope this poem is not to hot for this forum?
I left the end blank on purpose, like panning to the window with blowing curtains...It is the dance of life, my aim was sensual, not erotic....although in poems like these they can be the same car roaring towards the crossroads. They have not crashed here, I hope, but just nicked each other...

"Ooooooooooo"  I like that, as a comment it could stand by itself....
Thank you

Glad the poem moved for you....Thanks

A perfect nic to match this poem, I had in my mind that the woman in the poem had this name (keeping with the Spanish heat-theme of this poem)....The mans name is Joe,,,,I think of him as plain Joe, because the emphasis of this poem is on the female.....from my point of view ...thanks for reading and commenting

(smiles) Ooohhhhhhh...this is indeed a passionate, yet beautifully graceful and poetic dance of a poem, sweet friend, I love the Latin culture soooooo much and dream to get to dance with a dream girl, though, maybe just a bit much tamer for a while of course, hehehe! (big angel hugs) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ford, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Ford,
     I love this one.
Now I can go to work with a smile,
spring in my step, work my froggy heart out
with a smile.
Thank-you for all the smiles today from your
poetry.

Froggy...
I know that work is not a tango,
But hope you can remember the dance steps in this poem as you dance off to work.
Thanks for the reply
