Fortuity?

The lightning streaks across the sky
Two trees fall to the ground
Some say that if no one is present,
there is not a sound

I wonder if somebody screamed,
and no one came around
If they would still believe in something,
that is this profound?

A falcon floats up high above,
three otters share a drink
The trees are in the river and they slowly
start to sink

So many pine cones now adrift,
released from nature’s grip
So many more are trapped,
as branches quickly start to slip

The ones that have their freedom,
now no longer have to stay
Their on a journey that will take them,
near and far away

Bobbing up and down the riffles,
heading toward the falls
Coursing through the eddies,
as the turtle starts to crawl

Rushing through the gauntlet,
of a boulder riddled brook
Many cones are hindered,
as they lodge within the crook

Rushing out into the sea,
one seed from each is left
They ride the waves until they come,
back crashing, in the cliffs

They finally lay upon the soil
Their voyage finally done
They start to settle in their roots,
and drink up nature’s sun

They stand together tall and proud,
and guard the river wide
They reach unto the heavens
As the hawk lets out a cry

“fortuity or fate?”

Very good Dawn!
You get an A +

It’s always nicer to make one think,
then to just give up all the goods..

Thanks Dawn, I hope you’re having
a nice day!

Richy

You are rich with words and what they can do to make a thought and then a reason.  Loved this, my friend!

I believe in fate...and this was a nice stroll down by your river of imagination,

so deep the water was waist high...I forgot to put my fishing boots on....

Pretty big fish there....hard to eat in just one bite....

Hi Romantic Heart!

Yeah for the deeper pools, you might want
to try a pair of waist high fishing waders,
the ones with the suspenders...

Oh, and if you have a net handy, maybe I could
borrow it? You weren’t kidding about these
big fish...

You know you‘re right though, fate definitely
would be the more romantic way to look at things...

I’m glad you enjoyed the stroll!

Dear Richy, I very much enjoyed your ride down the river and the conclusion:

They finally lay upon the soil
Their voyage finally done
They start to settle in their roots,
and drink up nature’s sun

They stand together tall and proud,
and guard the river wide
They reach unto the heavens
As the hawk lets out a cry

Nature’s harmony and balance is one of the most fascinating processes that can be observed, I think. Even though some events fill us with melancholy.

You have done a great job here! Fortuity? Fatality? Life’s journey ... mysterious, but always fascinating.
Love, Margherita
