Of all the flowers that grew along the grove
of spendors' unfolding
one alone remained bundled in a ball of subtlety,
untouched, waiting for the sun to reach its summit
and moist loam's supply of just the right nuture.

Seemed like ages awaited the blossom to come forth.
Now I question the wait and what it's worth.
A few days of loveliness.
Sometimes I think Heaven must be like that --
the bud yet unfolded,
a promise awakening.

Sometimes that is how it is,  whether it be
a rose,  or ourselves...I think I was one,
or at least I have been called that...BUT,
does one have to wait 50 years to be in
bloom?  Sheesh!

This reminds me of the closed gentian that blooms in open meadows in late summer, and fall...The most heavenly blue on earth, but it never opens....The reason is is that it is a perfect flower, male and female parts are enclosed.....does not need the bees to polinate...It is a mystery why this flower evolved like this, like the heaven you speak of in the poem....
enjoyed reading this

Greeneyes -- thank you, sweetness!

Magnus -- thanks for the post.  I hope not!  But, I think your verses blossom galore!

Ice -- this gentian you speak of I am not familiar with, but that is almost the picture my mind's eye had!  Thanks for the information and your kind remarks!

(smiles) Yay! Awwwwwwww, this is soooooo gorgeous, sweet friend, I believe that God makes some flowers bloom later for a reason, for when all the other flowers have their turn showing off their gorgeous colors, that lets the other ones stand out and get recognition of their own, yay, everyone wins! (big angel hugs) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jo, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

This reminded me (for some reason) about this apple that grew on my apple tree one year. and it came in late, and we never picked it so it just sat there, through almost all the winter we had this one big bright red apple on the tree, through snow and everything... the things that come in late seem to develop a strength, a tolerance, and a beauty. Definitely worth the wait
Loved this!

iliana,
I loved reading this, feeling this, and savoring the thoughts reflected in the responses as well.   Very nice reflective writing.   What is blind writing,BTW?   I have an idea, but would like more description if you have time to give it.

iliana...a very special and lovely write. I agree with you Heaven is a bit like that bud who had not completely bloomed. We see through a dark glass, now; but then we shall see clearly all the mysteries and beauties of Heaven. ***Ivy Rose

Whether it is for the trouble of the latest fashions someone will always wait for the thrill of someone discovering them

They are untouched until the right Sun awakens the desire to breed

Translate your days into years by a different timescale.

Would you regret the beauty.

I actually think that Heaven is slightly different and no doubt I will get hell for how I might see Heaven late on a friday night when everyone has nipped out leaving someone on duty by the gate

love Dave

When bare branches
busrt forth with buds
soon to blossom,
albeit only for a moment
before wilting-
...seems always worth it.

beautiful poem Iliana...~P
