Unchartered

Struggling with feelings, some long overdue
No shoulder to lean on, just words on the blue
Each day draws more pain, no solutions to find
The hope that could be there, is gone, yet my mind
Tries to think of another, in spite of it all
As I heard her last words and the sound of voice fall
There is only tomorrow, and the next and until
All the fairness gone out, as I falter with will

We talked all about it, how the three of us give
How the losses attack us, our lives hard to live
But the moments won't spare us, the rain has begun
The storm is oft waiting, its mission not done...
Pain is the offering, as we worship regret
Sorrow extended, as time is to let
Now we wrestle with thoughts, all of the unknown
It is of tomorrow, unchartered, to postpone...

M

Maureen

Sometimes it's hard to know what to say when there is so much feeling and heartache in a poem...can I just offer a hug?

Maureen -- such a very good poem and oh so full of sadness -- hope things get better (not your writing, it's great; the other things.)

You know, this brought a tear down my cheek. Maybe because of your pain, maybe because of how I know some of it too, but then maybe because of both.
No matter how many words are spoken before, last words still ring and ache, and do forever. Time does nothing but firment it to some sort of a sickening release... and it aches.
All that to say, that I can't really say much, just offer this...

Always, Alyssa

He was a man of sorrows
...I am a girl of tears.

thank you...just more sad news from my sister and mother who is up visiting with her in hopes she would have an operation to relieve some of her pain.

The surgeon says no and any other surgeons will say the same because she cannot have anesthesia with her lung cancer and liver failing and would not make it through the 3 hour operation to remove two hernias that have grown in the last several months giving her excruciating pain...Told her, her quality of life is better this way (whatever of it is left) than chancing the operation. So her hope for some comfort is gone.

Thanks again for the hugs...my pain is in the heart for her and for what she endures daily and what is to come.
