I Stop

I stop to watch the birds fly bye
I hold each flower to smell and sigh
I fawn beneath the dew of dawn
And breathe the air of early morn

I walk the path the day presents
With open mind and am content
To follow odors of my nose
To touch the petal of a rose

I read the symbols nature writes
Most are tinged with soft delight
Some are doffed beyond my care
The filigree of my aware

We all play God unto our self
Some times a pixy sometimes an elf
Our mind a cosmos round a bend
Horizons that will never end

I watch the birds and smell the morn
Each day I see a bright new dawn.

You have the secret of happines there, Sy. Appreciate the small beauties of life and treat each morning with a pleasurable smile. Big things take care of themselves and we have little control over the outcomes - the small things so many people overlook is where the real beauty lies.

I love the special time of early morning in any season, in any setting. It is filled with such hope... presents to us a blank canvas for us to paint another picture for our lives. I love reading your poems and the style of your writing. Thank you.

Ah Sy..dawn most surely is the most beautiful time of day.
You have captured what is special, pure and good.
Have time for a cup of tea?

'The filigree of my aware'

Oh dear man ... within the filigree of your aware
is the poetry that I'm so glad you share~

This echoes beautifully in my heart, dear Seymour. You have a wonderful connection to Nature and its source.
Guess, I stop too ....
This is an exquisite write.

And that is why the candles on your cake contradict your youth... and why your wise words give us such beautiful truth... Excellent philosophy AND work, my friend! *S*

Sy,
I agree totally agree in what you say.  The most delightful things are of nature, things to plunge our senses into...
   Much enjoyed,
