In my ears I can hear the song of ages past,
your breath as a sensation travels to my heart,
extracting on the way emotion of my soul
to filter through my eyes the passion you inspire.

With love your energy fine tuned and now refined
encircles every cloud as if you’re there inside
but from a distance far away is where you keep vigil
and oversee construction of perfect harmony.

One, two, three, in stages on and we refuse to see
old must go before the new arises from deep sleep
and builds again from start to end towers of pure faith
in how a master formulates his plan for mother earth.

And as I feel your pain emanating from my birth
into a lifetime I’ve decreed to be of little worth
I too would slink away to shadows of dismay
not only for a night but until the change complete.

Now I lay me down to sleep,
tread carefully lest I wake to weep!

Thanks, Ethel.  And now I am going to grab hold of the elusive thing called "sleep".

Lots of good imagery here! (And as I feel your pain emanating from my birth) Grover.

Thank you all so much for your kind responses.  I slept, and perhaps am sleeping still in denial of these present times.
