.

.

Just beyond the bridge
through the mists of time,
past the pink and purple
heather haze,
rests a hamlet so sublime.
Where music beckons
in the breeze,
while plaid kilts
flip and twirl.
Where no one ever
seems to age
Nay, not boy or girl.
A patchwork quilt
of hills and dales,
blankets this wondrous place.
And fairy dust lights
an emerald path for you
to a world of mystical
time and space.
Some they call it Brigadoon,
and go home
with Bonnie Jean.
Some say it's a
state of mind,
and can't be really seen.
But myself, I've felt
it calling
from the highlands
and the glen-
"Come abide sweet lass"
the bagpipes plead,
"Till we slumber once again."
So scoff and laugh
shake your head at me,
while I pack my
travel gear.
Don't wait up-
turn off the lights.
I'll be back in
one hundred years.
.

Congratulations little sister of mine!  8,000 posts and counting...
And to post this piece to mark your milestone is very special.
For as you and I both know....somewhere in the highlands..
the highlands of Scotland...there indeed lies a hamlet known forever as Brigadoon!

Aye ... there's the rub!  My Scottish roots call from beyond the heather in this beauty, Chris.  I can hear my Grandmother's rrrroling "r's" now, as she sits back quiety from the cottages she affectionately named "Bonny Dune" and "Blink Bonny". Oh, she would have loved this piece as I do. Congratulations on 8,000 ... this is excellent!

Best wishes,
/Kit
