Ethel,  from the heart of a humble man,  who has
never worn a giant's shoes...

His words, rough as granite shards, yet
soft, filled with kindness....wisdom...
Vanity...humility...

Stumbling over sticks, slipping on
syllables, mumbling iamb as he became
I AM...

Wondering if ever he could, if the words of
silk could flow the stream of life, if the vowels
would slip off a tongue into the stew, now
steaming in wait.

Tread the worm walk, hear the birds sing of days
when nights became dreams.   Listen to the
softness of a falling leaf onto new born snow.
Carry the quill of spontaneity as ink splashes
merrily in wait...hear the master’s call...

Write of the wind on sails, the waves ashore,
a maiden’s blush... so very  much more.
Write of the heart that fell, a yearn to quell,
a whispered thought....for naught?

Come,  join those who are humble, writing
words of heart....that we might grow and
become poets....together!

I love this line...
it made me smile...and I don't think
it will disappear for the entire day,
now...

not when I think of iamb I Am

Barry, I felt the warmth of your heart and your
hug as I read these words. As Martie said, they
came right through the screen and reached me.
Now, there are tears in my eyes, but I still thank
you from the bottom of my heart.
Heart hugs to you, sweet poet-friend
Ethel

(by the way, you are a very big poet-giant in my eyes)
