Quintessential

We should paint for the sake of the home

So expression goes precisely to the center of substance

Deepest chair of creativity sounding so industrial

Prophets dance a transcendental bond with nature

Their offspring’s, a thoughtful relationship with time

Rivers run a sacred hallucination of green emerald

Dripping…pouring evermore…

A realm of rich aroma flooding magnificently

Communal coma walks right into my dreams

Haunting memory proposes a transient marriage with music

Blending no evidence of ambition, passion, or appearance

Simply nature allowing the eyes to merge into a soft shadow

Merely a larger balance of an arabesque city

Indefinite eloquence of life’s highest municipality

I stroll backwards toward this native shore

Talking with evening & the manifestations of golden moons

Absurd cosmic metaphors, winking benign tunes

Maestro’s irregularity as change accelerates

Has become a more complex certainty to maintain

I stand hopefully poised, in the face of illogic

In this day and age is anything evenly spaced?

I spend time with identity’s self-conflicts

Completing a cross word puzzle of riddles.

Yes, we should paint.  And, you do.

You know, Lee, even though
this was written in February,
it seems to speak of rebirth...

so it blooms again.
