Index

The index of my smile is slack
It’s lost its way by added track
The folds upon my face have grown
Like fields the farmer plowed and sown

When shown it’s almost lost its view
Among the craggy cracks that grew
Along with visions dim of day
That makes for gray upon my way

And birds are further from my hear
Or perhaps I’ve lost my ear
But things are not the same for sure
It seems to me they’ve lost their lure

It seems no rush to where I go
I’ve hung my hoe it’s just for show
And now I can but style a wile
And file them for a future while.

The paddle wheels are slow abeam
I need to dream, a head of steam.

Smile

Just continue the dream, though i have to say the folds in the face only makes the smile more pretty.

Very reflective morning write Sy.
And in your pic you look pretty good to me!

Nah...the smile is there...
but as for the hearing?
Mine is going too, Sy...sporadically.

Will this then allow us only to hear
what we want?

Oh, Seymour dear friend, not to worry. As long as you have Randy with you, anything is possible....even a trip to yesterday! Here, have a cinnamon roll with your tea. Sweets always make me feel better! hugs, Chris

I can tell, but the writing is coming through everso loud and clear and that's good -- so don't worry....be happy...like the song says.  Life would be pretty boring if things always stayed the same (trite, I know).

Hi seymour,
Seems to me that you "hear"
just fine, my friend....
you hear what matters, from the heart.

Well, you fooled me, Sy. I always thought you HAD a head of steam!!

Know what you mean, pardner. Takes me 4 minutes to cook a three minute egg these days!

Hang in there....

Sy,
The nice thing about a field plowed and sown is that a great harvest is shared with many.   You abundantly share and are well loved here.  BTW, I really liked your poem.

To all my wonderful friends, I thank you much. My time is not my own lately and since I do move slower it does take more time. I realy do appreciate all your comments. They are like a head of steam that keeps me going.
