Slipped Threads

there were
a thousand miles
of ribboned moments
that I couldn’t
touch you
and no matter
how I tried
each inch turned
into a mile
raveling string
I wanted to tie
a sad satin place
of slide
so I let go
and watched
you fly

Smile though it felt sad.

It told alot of a longing heart, and someone close.

Smile

This sounds like a dream of letting go, Helen

Someone, or something significant, is a kite,
way up in the sky, and you finally decide it‘s time,
and so you cut the string...

A kite actually got away from me at the beach once.
Took me over two hours to track it down, in a nearby
neighborhood. When I finally found it in a tree in
someone’s backyard, it was all tore up anyway... lol

I’m not sure why I wasted so much time, going after it?
But I still remember it, as a fun experience.

Thanks for this Helen

It’s always amazing, what memories get stirred up,
when we read someone else's thoughts (poem).

Helen, your lovely writing left me with the following:

While threads unravel in the wind
I want to run straight to him
following that one last silver one
to the place before it was first undone.
