       Isn’t it hilarious?
          How serious
      We sometimes take ourselves!

Last night in high heels, a tight skirt
And in coat I began to write.
Nauseous from binding waist
I soon removed it, left no trace.

Entered fine daughter in mighty haste,
“To the store right now, no time to waste!”
This good parent dropped the web,
Grabbed the keys, then to the mall we’d head.

Like astute young daughter,  I missed a stitch
Until I opened the vehicle door.
We’d been sooo rushed, I forgot  my skirt—
Only my coat and slip I wore!

(Sometimes we just have to laugh at ourselves
and STYLE—or lack of, in this case!!!  What a RUSH!))

Jo,
The hardest thing to believe is that "I,"
as tired as I was, caught this little blunder. My creative dressing daughter didn't even notice when we walked out of the house together!    ~SADIE
muted,
Can you believe anybody would be so silly?!!!  In response, yes, the slip was very comfortable!  (might have been a tad bit uncomfortable and embarrassing to notice at the mall, though!

Wow!  I’ve heard of slipping over to the mall,
without your sales slip... ! ...

lol

Let’s just pray Toerag’s never in a rush,
when his kilt is off, because it was binding
around his waist too tight...

Yeeesh!

Hilarious story Sadelite!

I try to avoid writing in high heels and
a skirt for just that reason!

I agree with what you say. It is so true. Perhaps it is one of the hardest things we must learn. Laughing is my favorite thing to do! Laugh, it makes life worth living! Great write.

Ratleader,
Yeowzah--I like that word.  I've never seen it written before!  Thanks.

Richy,
Oh, I can't even imagine Toerag with or without a kilt!   What a picture!   Enjoyed your comment

Dingusjr,
I bet I know the reason for no heels!
Thanks for the comment.

Kristabell,
You've got that right.   Laughing at things that bother me is a toughy!   Glad you can.   Thanks for your wisdom.

Passing Shadows,
Hope that put a smile on your face!   Glad you got a chuckle!

Sadie, I do believe that is what my mother would have referred to as, "your slip is showing..."  LOL...only we could take it literally to the bank, for you, m'girl!

You can laugh at yourself
That’s good
You write a poem about it
And that is good also

I always enjoy a well written slice of life

P.G.,
It is good to hear from you.  Hey, life's worth smiling about, what can I say?  Well, at least most of the time.   Don't be a stranger at pip.

Suthern,
Thank you, thank you--I thought it was just me and my crazy life!

Sunshine,
Had to laugh at your response--we called it "snowing down South."  Truly 'tis the time.  Thanks for stopping by and sending me a chuckle.

Toerag,
ahem, cough, choke;  not on your life you crazy persion you!   But seriously, I'm glad you could get a laugh out of my silliness.

Steaven,
Glad I could hear your smile!  Have a good day, night?   What time is it anyway?
Thanks.

Noah,
Really, I remember about falling off my chair when the bra strap look came into vogue a couple of years ago.   Maybe the kids will just think I'm hip--not senile!
Glad you enjoyed my laugh with me.
