Picture by Josephine Wall * * * I'm leaving part of me behind After I take my final breath Parts of me will go on living In the days after my death I've decided to donate my organs To give others a chance to live I want to leave a good impression Of myself I've much to give The recipient of my kidneys Might be a father of three Who'll receive my gift of life Which was once a part of me A child may receive my liver To improve his life tenfold He will live a fuller life Which will allow him to grow old I hope my heart will go on beating So then my death won't be in vain Parts of me will go on living Freeing others from their pain My eyes may go on seeing From within another's soul To give to someone in need Is, for me, the ultimate goal I'll take a first class flight to heaven Upon an angel's wings I'll soar My dear father will be waiting When I arrive at heaven's door * * * "To share often and much....... to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." I am in motion I am blue Love is an ocean I'm anchored in you - Shawn Mullins [This message has been edited by Suetang (02-10-2004 09:49 PM).] |

A subject not often written about. What a blessed way to give! Grover. |

Sue, this is a beautiful, thoughtful poem. Dear friend, no matter what you do, you would leave a good and lasting impression. |
