Socks Of Many Colors

Woolen warm
I step in, always to my neck
From cold to colder still
Somehow unblemished tears will cusp
Not yet…just to the top of circular plateaus
For the freeze would stop them there
As time is full and empty
That shouldn’t matter if my feet are warm
But it does, oh yes, it does

While too much drivel should be avoided
There are times the fire is so welcome
A portable contingent…seeking covers clad yarn
That I spin from time to time
Feebly around my arms like mittens
But upon the needles, grow feet
And I smile in the unkempt way I wander
Scarf askew…friendship brew and rainbows
Covering my chilled toes thick and warm

Not the itchy stuff, or callous off the cuff
But soft like lambs the silk of me its monograms
And happenstance begets its chance
Untwined, divined…like cocoa steam beneath fluff
I wonder if I’ll have enough to save or send
Given to the winds of missed pretend
Drooped, and slouched like Saturday
It doesn’t matter come what may
I step in to my neck

Kathy...

Make an extra pair...(a little larger!)

FEDEX!!

This one is a cute write,  much enjoyed
the humor,  yet I also could see through
the yarn into the reality...

Kathleen, this ones written differently
than your usual. I do like it very much, though.
