Maintaining Valves

what warrants this
that strips me
thread by thread
to slowly turn
in bare metal chaffing
to bend in clank
in temperatures
exceeding hot
and crack beneath
the depths of frozen
where claiming
salty moisture
rusts my edges
yet strength
protects center
and there the feel
is smooth as glass
and all flows free

What a vision, dear Helen! You forged your thoughts in a masterful way.

A treasure trove of metaphors. Flows very smoothly. Very well written. A+ poem! Grover.
