How can the night be so cold
without freezing over?

The rain turns hearts
to fragile blue.
We write your name in chalk
then let cars pass over you.
Yet,
with wind’s song
we hear you say
that love is coming back
someday soon.

Do you ever feel helpless
when you watch this human race?
Lonely and defeated
when we spit upon your face?

I just wanted to say,
I’m sorry.

He was a man of sorrows
...I am a girl of tears.

Dix,
sadly, not many people see it as that. Thank you for your faithful replies

jo,
this really wasn't too good of a write lol but if you saw the sweetness of my soul in it then you're either crazy, or just a really amazing and caring person. I think I'll go with the latter of the two   Thank you.

James,
thanks   kind of you to reply to this poem, I know it wasn't much of a good one.

Always, Alyssa

PS again sorry for the delayed replies. Spent the last few days at home and at the docs with some hefty but verrrry nice pain relievers!

you got soul, now let it protect your heart from this cold world. love does wonders, yes it hurts, but if it didnt ever get a chance to know pain, how can it know love
you got a gift

Alyssa, I know that I've told you before, but there aren't very many people your age who have the faith that you have. In fact, there aren't many at any age!! You are an inspiration to me, sweet little lady. Though you have awful pain from your condition, you still know where your help comes from. I think that is absolutely great!!
With love and hugs to you, my friend,
Ethel

mgroves,
you're very right, it has to know that pain.. which I hate, because it hurts so much. But the thing about it is you can't let love protect you, because love is to lay yourself out bare and vulnerable to be rejected and laughed at... everyday. But hey, thats life I suppose. Thank you for your kind reply.

Ethel,
...last night I layed in bed and prayed. It was more like pleading really. I looked out my window, up to the sky, and I begged God... then I fell to the floor sobbing and pleading until my entire body was sick from it. I was home alone through the night, thankfully, because my father would have thought me crazy. I reminded Him of promise after promise, just as He told us to. And I thanked Him, and prayed in His name and by His blood...
there's some things I like to look at my elders or friends for, but not many. When it comes to God, I just go to Him with whatever wreck I am. And He's the only one who can heal me, and the only one who can heal those I love... I don't understand people who can't see that or can't live by it once they do. Its hard, its painfully, heartwrenchingly hard... with rejection and death on every corner. But its God... I don't understand why it'd be me, a sixteen year old girl, who shows more sign of knowing that then others. Its sad.
Sorry about that... I don't mean to stand on some soap box, none of it was directed at you, I guess I'm just tired. Thank you ethel for your reply and for seeing what you do...

Eric,
He is ..thank you for your reply!

Always, Alyssa
