she stole the tinsel
from the tree
for the sake of modesty
gathering her audience
lidded
lush
imaginings
charleston
and a cigarette
ruby lips
a letter "o"
impatience
in dismiss of it
flash of flask
too delicate
shivering
the crawl of fringe
teasing tiny hairs of thigh

with more than her fair share of sass--

"c'mon daddy-o let's fly"

She knew a secret place to hide--

beneath the bare of skin.

(giggles) This has a tinge of sadness to me but couldn't help but make me smile as it reminded me so much of the new age Betty Boops, sweet friend, hehehe, sugar and spice and ambrosia in one, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

You provoked memories of perfume heavy with floral scents threaded with ambergris, tobacco smoke, rye whiskey, the shimmer of tiny sequins netted over smooth warm skin, flashing eyes and flashing beads, a teasing playful flick of tongue on the lips, and always in the background the brilliant sound of a slightly out of tune piano.

...and I thought I was going to get to go to sleep...silly me.

Hi Serenity,

I’m probably way off (when aint I?) but the first part kind of reminded me of Janet J.
But more so, from a scene in a movie like Chicago. (of course since I didn’t see
the movie, I’m just going by the previews, how pitiful is that lol)

Either or way, I really liked it!

Thanks, it was a fun read

Not only what icebox said...but

the sensation of falling back
into another time...

well done, serenity...

I have a painting that perfectly fits this poem.  If I didn't like it so much, I'd give it to ya...lol.

A blush and a thank you--and yes, Mysteria, I've got this new character knocking around my head here.

Nance and Chris? ya'll know I have to know the "special reasons" now.

(You two can tell some terrific stories.)

And yep, this lady doesn't have a name yet--but she's another post-it note on my desk.

(I'm a mess over here.)

Thanks and love to all. The poetry was just nagging at me again so I thought I'd let it out.

Well I, for one, am very glad that you 'let it out'...smile

Agreeing...I want to hear more about her too...smile...

This definitely left room for many colorful interpretations of the character.  I'm with Noah.  I pictured it as a little sad- Perhaps
knowing of innocence lost, but getting on with life.  I really enjoy how you use your brush, Lady.
