Early, Early (Poem #12 Challenge – Martie’s, Some Midnight)

Sounds change
when situations improve,
circumstances supposing life
could be better off now,
as finance strengthens soundness in resonance-proofing windows,
keeping life hums
away…

doesn’t surprise me that I would want
yesterday’s window, when nips of cool fog
snuck in on a California morning’s
calico cat feet…

and want that again not
for reminiscing, but for
sensing once more cool earth bouquets,
from early morning tree flowers hanging in wait
of fruition
that greet waking senses,
when next door sounds of greeting paperboys
drift through the gray,
when dew sounds drip in plink,

before the bitter coffee ground me warm,
before voices began a stirring storm,

when hummingbird wings couldn’t be seen,
but heard…

early, early here in the gray mist of dawning,
wave with me goodbye
to bump in the night sounds

then watch with me
burning mists
as sun ascents

that one might find their way
in following night dreams.

hi Karilea

Sure wish I'd known you back then...and was your neighbor!

"a California morning’s
calico cat feet…"

Wonderful recall of window blessings!

Hey Sunshine. This is great. Seems you and I are both thinking in terms of windows today. (Snicker.) That is funny since I work for a window manufacturer. Love this piece.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!
