Irvington, Feb 4, 3:00 AM

Before dawn;
the branch-broken moon
splits the void.

In pieces,
the 'full snow moon'
hovers silently.

Hungry moon;
pierced by black oak limbs
lights the ink sky

This frozen night
even the full 'hungry moon'
-shattered!

Full Snow Moon - February Since the heaviest snow usually falls during this month, native tribes of the north and east most often called February's full Moon the Full Snow Moon. Some tribes also referred to this Moon as the Full Hunger Moon, since harsh weather conditions in their areas made hunting very difficult.

Vivid!  I enjoyed the series and each separately.  Thanks,

Paul~
You write the scene so vividly and so very beautifully ... and then ... and then ... you place the most beautiful photo to accent your piece ...... I am 'almost' ... oh ... but not quite ... speechless~

This is truly one of the loveliest posts I've seen on these pages ... and that's a mighty big compliment my friend~
Mighty big~

This is so elegant ... so breathtakingly lovely~

Thank you ... thank you for sharing the finery of your thoughts~

LOVE THAT PHOTO TOO !!

Paul~

you really do have an amazing way of writing! I enjoy your words

I lie awake at night
I reach out to touch
Feel you by my side
I reach I never feel you
Will I ever get to feel you again
Just one more time
