There’ll Be Peace

The pain of you asphyxiates me.
Like a maelstrom it pulls me under,
jerks at my flesh 'til I open mouth,
and draw in a torrent of heartache.
I’m submerged in the brine of might-have-been.

Davey Jones' clasp me to thy bosom.
Here amongst shipwrecks forgotten I'll lie--
--ne'er to rise to the surface again.
Sink deeply my bow and crush my stern,
for anguish I'd have immersed forthwith.

Let the rise and fall of the ocean;
be wedded to the beat of my heart.
Let memory blend with the ebb tide,
‘til it is as vaporous as waves,
breaking on the shore. Then there’ll be peace.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

E.V.,
YOU KEEP GETTTING BETTER AND BETTER!
About six months ago, I remember first reading a post of yours, thinking, "This guy's got talent."  I've got to admit that in the poem I read, everything didn't make perfectly good sense to me, but I knew that you had the passion in your writing that creates good poetry.  In the last six months I have seen incredible growth (or at least growth as seen by my inexperienced eyes), in your presentation.  It is much smoother fitting together like a hand in a glove.
As a PIP friend, I'm proud of the poet you've become.  I very much enjoyed your write.

Kevin, this is an incredible write, my friend.
Do you realize what talent you do have?
Thanks for sharing it here with us.
