In the pearl of the sky
I went looking for the light
barefoot
around the rows of windows

Some hand
had spilled ice-cubes there

They were melting
into the lemon
hidden in the corner of outside

Wake with me some midnight
and we will search for morning
in delicious slumbering warmth
covered with this light

I love this.  You bring back such wonderful earthy smells of early early...
and my childhood reblooms in my mind...

Thank you, Martie!

The words, the images and the invitation redefined warmth, especially on an endless winter's day on the other coast.  Very cool write Martie...

I'll bet there is flannel involved.

There is a pleasure in the pathless woods.
There is a rapture on the lonely shore.
I love not man the less ... but Nature more.

You've inspired me, Martie. I'm going to take that walk right now. Different night, different street, different town.....same walk.

You can be in the same place and time on a walk, but it isn't always necessary. I'll let you know if that ice has melted yet.

Martie, you have an innocent zeal for life
that is just so wonderfully refreshing

A wondrous gift, I bet you’ve always had

And one I’m sure, you always will

That's a nice way to begin...
and if we are lucky enough,
it will be just like that.

Your writing is such an assortment,
and a very special gift.
