Oh Caesar, your eyes blinded by power cannot see,
for on the morrow the hawks shall fly the winds.
To land, softly before you, as you quietly doze.

Your blood is sought, your death a dream to them.
Their evil cloaked by smiles and handshakes of
feigned loyalty....awaken Caesar, the hour is late.

They love you not Caesar, for in thy indignity,
you have scorned them.  Your sitting betraying
you,   bringing they who despise you to talk in
whispered circles...

Fear well, for their numbers are many, the line
of death stretches to the setting sun. They are
hungry,   the muttering of their words stifling
the growl of guts that crave for power, for
the filled coffers of your realm.

No man, strange to you shall strike you, shall
spill the blood of you whose lifeless eyes
absorb the betrayal   For it will be you who
they mourned upon the pyre.  And in your death
they shall seal their own....beware of the Ides.

Thanx Steven.....sometimes the title of
Modern Day Shakespeare has been uttered by
more than just a few....with a twinge of
Poe interspersed....

Well to start off, I love caesar. Second, Im surprised Shakespear didnt write this in his play. And third, (This will sound funny) steavenr said "there is a classic familiarity to your lines" Well, it reminds me of Homer. It really reminds me of him. OKay, you may call me crazy now. does anyone else agree?

Unwantedspork....??  what a name!!
Homer?  Hmmmmm,  I will have to think on that
one for a while....I have not read Homer in
years...many years...perhaps I should....

Shakespeare did write a poem which was
supposedly the words of Antony relating
to the Ides of March...and to Caesar,
was reading it earlier...

BTW>>>welcome to Passions,  hang around a
while....

(sigh) Oh Barry, somenhow this reminded me of Homer too, sweet friend, as Odysseus was a tragic hero like Caesar was in reality and certainly we all have ides of our own! (big angel hugs) This is excellent, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
