Glaucus, our dear friend,
sprang into the sea.
The herb he ate was manna-
the stuff we'd took as tasteless.

We haven't seen him floating
nor checked the depths at large
but to sprinkle little food-dust
and probe our dirty finger.

It's murky and more clouds
in which he could hide.
So where is our dear Glaucus?

Everywhere, my
cold spine decides.
