Literally

I blunder blindly down this road they call life,
Literally…

I stumble and fall over hurtles I never saw,
Literally…

I fear what I cannot see,
Literally…

I hide from what I cannot comprehend,
Literally…

I take one step at a time,
Literally…

Until I reach the very end,
Literally.

Let me know what you think. Give me your honest opinions. Explain what you think the meaning is.

This is a good and powerful write ... the repeted "literally" gives a strong rhythm.

And taking one step at a time is a good thing too!

You say much in a few sentences.
Love, Margherita

There are no hidden meanings-- no allegorical, mystical interpretations to this poem. And that is what makes it work. The daily [drudgery at times] of literal living, or virtual [actual] living brings true fulfilment: one step and one day at a time... anyway that's what "me thinks!" Grover.

Literally, I think this portrays a not so happy event filled life.  It leaves me sad.  So if that was the intention... A+!  Literally has a sarcastic connotation, generally speaking, and when I read your poem aloud, this "tone" adds to the sad, almost mocking, feel of the words.

Well, I think you all have a point. It was not exactly meant to be sad, but I am glad you enjoyed it. I suppose I was feeling somber. Thanks all of you!
