~ Love Letters ~
I do enjoy your letters, but, they cannot take the place..
Of all the happiness I have, when I behold your face.
The joy of gazing in your eyes, and knowing you are here,
Of being with the one I love...so wonderful and dear.

I wonder where you are tonight...somewhere across the sea,
And, how much longer I must wait, till you come home to me.
But, oh, my love, in every dream I find your face once more,
And you are in my arms again, a million miles from war.

I want to walk beside you, and to hold your hand in mine..
And feel your letters come to life, in every word and line.
To phrase our promises as one, that we will never part,
And seal it in an envelope...I carry in my heart.

I shall ever be there with you, our destiny is sealed.
My heartbeat will be of you, though you may not hear it’s peal.
Though a war has taken my love away from you my dear,
Our memories will guide us, from afar until we're near.

A pillow lets me feel a face so soft and ever bright.
A pencil lets me draw and trace your blue eyes gleaming sight.
A knapsack holds your picture near, I stare into your eyes
as shells of war are bursting o'er distant darkened skies

And if the day might ever come that I would not return,
A mountain high would carry me, a new star would then burn.
For you are my life’s destiny, my soul and heartbeat too.
And you my dear were meant to be, my love eternal true.

Ah...so beautiful, you two!!  Reminds me of the movie, Cold Mountain.  Heart breaking when love is so far from beloved.

Heart warming, you two.  When I saw the title proclaiming a duet with the two of you, I knew I couldn't pass it up, and I was definitely not disappointed.  Lovely in deed though perhaps bittersweet...

enjoy the ride...

Thank You.

And I too thank everyone for the kindness of

Enchantress & Magnus~

When the ink breathes the thoughts of two excellent poets sooooo seamlessly ... it is a given that it is to be as beautiful as this~

This is soooo beautiful, Nancy and Barry.
I couldn't tell who wrote which lines.
I'm keeping this one, too. Thanks for sharing.
Hugs to you both,
