Wit Each day I sit and dup my grit To steep from it a cup of wit In ways for it to pay my fares This argosy of daily wears Though silence seems the golden rule Its conversation coins the tool And lends surcease to human peace A laugh or two to fill the lease It’s fine to sit and understand But esoteric seems too bland We have to feed all other sense In order for the minds dispense So feel you, touch you, taste you well Break the golden silence spell Place a kiss on cheek or lip Face the fear and take the trip It will enhance your beat of heart Or even turn the key to start. |
