How unfortunate, indeed.
Nothing's "good enough" for me.
Something twitches in content
even when my flesh is spent
that thing itches in my soul--
turn base metal into gold...

"Better than before" won't do.
Time denies the term, brand-new--
ticking tarnish through the day
(surely there's a better way)
and even if I could deny
this urge that pushes me to strive--

How could I know all I could be
Declaring, "Done--serenity!"?

This thing I find so maddening
screams at me to search for more...

How unfortunate, indeed.
I'll never have a moment's peace
until I cease to be at all
becoming new--some other thing
only then
to ask

"What if?"

I remember being happy with just what I had and just what I was...but now, I don't think I'll ever be happy with what I have and what I am, or what I will have and what I will be, no matter how much

I don't know if that's good or bad

Dixie?

Yanno? I don't know either.

It's late (or early) smile, and I am wondering how evolution could occur at all in the midst of contentment. I'm thinking it can't and I hope I'm wrong.

Thanks for reading. I hope we both can sleep soon.

Nodding at this...

I know this feeling... and I'm not
sure if it's good or bad either...
just that it 'is'...

Yes...sleep...soon...smile...

The only thing that I have found in my life that was just right, fulfilling, serene, and needed nothing added,,is my Mike,,,,everything else,,,I always feel, I could do better,
Michelle

I wish all could find the true happiness I have found,,in the eyes of Mike

I loved your poem. I believe I as well as many can relate to this poem The search for something that will bring peace inside. You expressed it wonderfully. I commend you.
