Overlooking me, from heights on splendor meadow
The quiet thirst of empty spoken blue, yet painted yellow
That somehow caught my heart in drift to steer a turn for turn
And suddenly the softest touch became a Knight to yearn

The chimes that sparkled through the wheat a sweet and fragrant pale
Sent capture for my favor bidding of once lost detail
Then lingered in the hour favored fluttering of harp
Returning in an echoed smile that clung in talents sharp

So deep in thought, his eyes cast down to walk a lonely road
Returned to me a music once forbidden in the rise it flowed
That I might hear his heartbeat just beneath his armored chest
And I found my head was resting up against his pounding quest

Overlooking, ever watchful as his arm around and near
Not expecting or rejecting yet protecting of his fear
That disarmed the need to vanquish, as my own home land alight
Then returning to the victor gentle stroke upon this Knight

Kathleen, don't know how I missed the beauty.
It must have been one of the days that I wasn't here
very much. I'm glad that I found it today.

I missed it,  only from not having replied..
Shame on me,  for this is a beaut.  Love
the rhyme,  the vision it gives me....and of
course I always love poetry that has a Knight
within the mist of it....

Well Done K.

ThisDiamond...A tremendous poem that has a beautiful flow to it. Your rhyme scheme is done with great expertise and adds to the enchantment of the poem. ***Ivy Rose

(big angel hugs) Softly romantic as your graceful poetry is, sweet friend, God Bless You, this is beautifully fanciful, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kathleen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
