LOVE FOR YOU
NONE FOR ME

wasted days and wasted nights,
being scared,worrying about my love, no where in sight.
being worried when he's late,
scared, when he stumbles in, full of hate
not a care for the damage he does,
no respect for the one he says he loves.
no care for my love, or concern,
only cares about self, drugs, and tavern.
comes and goes, as he pleases,
excuses and the fights he starts, lying never ceases.
as time goes by,it only gets worse,
lying, cheating, avoiding, denying, like a curse.
many nights sitting outside with kids untill three,
praying he'll passout, so no beatings on kids, or me.
not always physical, but oh those words,
strip you of pride, wanting to fly away like birds.
no way can you leave, when your empty inside,
standing alone, no dignity or pride.
then your whole worlds gone,
wondering how your life could go on.
then comes that day you walk out the door,
he falls to his knees, praying to god, will drink no more.
now comes recovery, thinking how happy we'll be,
not knowing how soon, he'd make me the enemy.
thinking no more lies, no more games.
nothing changes, treated the same.
praise him, love him, each and every day,
forgive him, trust him, only to get pushed away.
loving him is so hard to do,
he cant love himself, let alone you.
i'll keep on praying,
no longer i'll be staying.
proud of him, i'll always be,
for taking that step, to recovery.
for no more wasted nights wondering,
where he is, will he come home, walking or stumbling.
my love and understaning will always be,
none from him, he closed that door to me.
for that i can't stay,
i'll just take a step each day.
and i'll pray for him,
to open that door, and let life begin

Hi...welcome to Passions. Great first post...wish though it had been a lighter subject. It kind of angered me that anyone could stay with such a man. He doesn't deserve such love...but then that is personal opinion. Sorry...but my biological father was an alcoholic and this subject upsets me. If I ever meet the man again...

MG -- this was so full of your heart and so well written. How hard it must be. I went through a situation somewhat similar a long time ago; it ended in divorce. You have a much bigger and more forgiving heart than I could ever imagine! WELCOME TO PASSIONS.
