In the game of tag there was no being 'it'
to shrug off being a pariah, you'd do your bit
and catch another person if you could
senses of relief followed under hood...

but how long did that air of content last
as you'd scamper to a local base or mast
to be tagged again, one could almost predict
that the sluggish ones were likely to be it...

and as you grew, the game of catch modified too
it became the means to acquire a market sum
to amass stock benefits before they were none..

to avoid the risk of taking a hit
you'd tamper with life an extra bit
and said 'that transmitted disease won't catch me',
'cause you'd live for today, and 'want to be free'...

stock loss and virus X caught up in the end
cause a sarcoma appeared on the left side again
tampered with the sanctity of mucous membranes
and was left for washed up and borerline insane

thus post-modern viruses afflicted you then
for the family, is there a suitable card
I can send?

Sometimes when you're in the rat race, you should watch out for the rat poison. I like this one, Martin.

and so many of these rodents don't seem to mind the pile up of poison that lies at the end of the labyrinth they've created for themselves...thanks for reading Nan

There's a moral to this story! Very good! Grover.
