“STRANGELY SILENT”
by
Bill Charles
~~~~
Last night the phone was strangely
silent, perhaps it was because
my eyes were asleep and my
ears could not hear, yet I heard
my thoughts, for they were
wide awake and of you…
They thought of times past and of
loving caresses through the
night, of times that may
be and of embraces to come in
the still of morning’s light…
Yet last night the phone was
strangely silent, and I
ponder if it
were only because
my eyes were asleep…
A powerfully simplistic description... sensitive, smooth and very tidy wording. Excellent poem! Grover.
Bill,
Yes, I agree. Very much enjoyed.
"They thought of times past and of
loving caresses through the
night, of times that may
be and of embraces to come in
the still of morning’s light…"
Sigh..
