As falling waters upon my soul
drown the hurt of those waking fears
a drummer’s dance tells of a toll
of life now gone with aging’s years.

I see the dance steps in the lines
beyond the mirror of my eyes.
A vision which creases, refines
in a picture of truth, no lies.

Skin once smooth, void of weather
endures the rains that fall my plain.
A time now past, gone forever
on wishes brow and not again.

My oak once stood tall and spreading
upon the knoll of yesterday.
My life now walks, gently treading
waters which whisked one’s youth away.

Today reflects a time never seen,
tomorrow tells of times unknown.
The pasture is smooth of grass once green
where seeds have been left, softly sown.

And on the fall of my own stand
a bud shall rise into the sun.
Another life given as planned
will boldly and so wildly run.

Wonderful write here Barry!
