Cat Do’s

The order of “to-do's”
today,
may it keep me from my itches.

No matter if I’m in or out
whenever
my tail twitches.

First seeking
of the day
is to ponder what is sought.

A lovely bit of sunshine
splayed
on a carpet spot.

A curling
from my ears to tail
in the shadows of the hall

to a stretching
and a lolling
as sunlight splashes off the wall.

Nibble at my food,
and chomp
at what remains

in the dish
of my “sister” cat,
my domicile’s bane.

Cat rules
and agendas
may be quite selfish at best,

but you really must admit
a dog gets
nary this much rest.
