I wasn’t trying to eavesdrop I respect you need your space At times it’s hard to know Exactly where’s my place Be your friend or mother Depends upon your mood If I over step my boundaries You think I’m being rude But walking by your door Hearing you as you cry The mother in me takes over To find out the reason why My heart breaks just watching Each teardrop as they fall I’m here to be your protector Like I was when you were small Nothing could’ve prepared me For the reason that you ache My baby is just too young For that first heart break I don’t know what to tell you They say, “This too shall pass” In my heart I know it’s the first But it’s certainly not the last |

Very true, Deb. Unfortunately you know as well as anyone they will have to take that same rocky road we all did, filled with bumps, potholes and detours. The parent in us wants to protect them from that - of course, we can't. Excellent poem, miss Deb |

Thanks all! I just pray that my baby doesn't follow in her Mom's footsteps with those broken hearts! |

When the child is happy The parent is at their happiest When our children hurt, they’re not the only one’s, who feel the pain It may be the child’s first But it’s the parent’s worst Oh gosh... now I sound like Confucious, after one too many sake’s... Best wishes to you Deb And to your heartbroken child... Please, give him, or her, our best |
