I worry about you.
No, your questions don't bother me.
They are like the waves
pounding rocks,
though neither will ever understand,
of course over time
they'll reduce the rocks to sand,
carrying off the softest bits
leaving only undistinguished grit behind
to merge into the ever changing strand.

I want
to watch the ocean bend the sun into the surf,
the way things used to be
when I was young
and would wait with joy in my heart
for the birth of each new day.

A world without mystery or tears
holds no kin to me,
no place for humankind
to see and learn
in the twisting throes of evolution
there is no life without a wave of passion's heat,
without the pangs of birth,
without the anguished residue of death,
yet there is no understanding worth the cost of friendship.

When there is time,
walk along the ocean's edge;
touch the lee shore's ebb
safe back from the rip,
find a flat shell if you can
and skip it
down the trough between one wave and the next;
then, when you're home
again in a quiet dark alone,
form the memory
of that shell's brief dance
along the passing moment in the tide,
before it caught an edge and slipped away
again inside the sea of time.

Try to recall
it lived its dance as it flew for you
to show,
in that slice of time
for each recall of those brief moments,
you too are all you need to know,
to grow.

Someone told me you had heart.. (chuckling)
not that I didn't know it already... but this speaks between lines of friendship to say more than simple heart allows...

respect this sir... and your words in general..

You speak kindly to this heart of mine,
and say so much,  so eloquently.

I wish I didn't cry so easily these days,  but it is poetry such as this,
that pulls me under and leaves me spent.

Thank you icebox for sharing your sweet soul.

Icebox, it just doesn't get any
better then this.

This was more then fascinating,
it was enthralling.

And I feel real fortunate
to have read it.

Thank You

(sigh) The last stanza especially deeply touched my heart, dearest friend, I send many angel hugs your way as friendship is more tan between te lines, it's the roots and flowers beneath, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
