My Mind Running Amuck

The Noble Savage wonders about the meaning of certain sayings.
Well I’m here to clarify
I love a challenge of this little ole fertile mind
So here we go with my imagination running amuck.

To have your cake and eat it to
Now that is something to ponder
Cause if a cake is in my sight I’m going to eat it
Or maybe it could mean you can’t have everything your way?

Step on a crack and break your mother’s back
Now isn’t that a horror?
If in life you step on a crack, your poor mom would live in the hospital
Or she would tie you up and never let you out of the house?

Bad luck will come your way if you walk under a ladder
Now how many years is that of bad luck?
Cause when you walk under that ladder
The paint can falls on your head, you wind up with a concussion
Oryou walk around the ladder and the painter falls on your head?

Oh! Well! That's how the cookie crumbles
People and their food
Always referring to food, of course a cookie will crumble if you sit on it
Or trouble always comes your way, that’s life?

Life is a barrel of laughs
Now this meaning escapes me
Is it saying your laughing in a barrel
Or is the guy in the barrel hysterically laughing as he falls over Niagara Falls?

Now here is your chance
Think of a saying and make a verse
Sit and ponder
Or laugh hysterically as you fall over Niagara Falls.

Love Bon-Bon

The Noble Savage is a friend of mine. I just had to help her out of her dilemma.

Now hear, hear dear poetess
let it never be said
that I let a word-play challenge
go completely over my head~

So I'll join in this little rhyme
one poetic thought at a time~

'They' say that fools and their money are soon parted
Now how the heck did THAT get started?

I've every dollar I never spent
so color me the color of the Franklin Mint~

My piggy bank is bursting, yet I have been told
I'm definitely foolish, why ridiculously so!
So pardon my questioning of the intend
of parting company with my
$$$ GREATEST FRIEND $$$

Just LOVE word-play ... right up my lane~
Thank you girlie for this inspired refrain~

One of us is certifiably insane
Me first !  Me first !

Hey Marge.....
My certificate is a hangin' on the wall.
I graduated from The Looney Tune Bin.
"Aaaaaa what's up doc?"
My friend says I embrace my weirdness.
Cool.......

Confess your sin, and I obey
Kneeling, I open my lips to say
Forgive me, and pause before
I utter another word more

I peep from eyes shielded by
Lowered lashes, I softly sigh
And murmur my little plea
Please won’t you forgive me?

Tears of sorry fall softly down
In anxious wait I watch your frown
Then pray your smile appears
To dry eyes from regrets tears

In humbled pose I await
You to decide my destined fate
A smile that lights eyes once more
Raises my spirit from the floor

Confession is good for the soul
Especially when I’m given parole

I wanted to play too, now can't you see me truly penitent. Well, I was almost!

Tomorrow is another day I don't know what it holds
but I can face the future with courage brave and bold

Ya done very good with this one Marge....

Thanx...great wordplay I must say...
Simply slipping those bucks away...
Savin' and scrimpin' it all today...
Waitin' and wathin' for a rainy day...
