Listening…For The Wolves

softy here
night has fallen
there are
no city sounds
only the lullaby
of howling moon
listen…
there they are
the whispers
of the darkness
vanishing
on padded feet
and tonight
if we sit still
with luck
we go freely
with them
riding the backs
of grey ghost
that roams
before sunrise
knowing no
nocturnal rest
attacking only
in yellow
eyed hunger
and work
and love
till morning

OneSlick~
*smiling* with the sheer beauty of you~

AND ... I soooooooooooo know those hungry wolves ... but mine are green-eyed monsters just waiting for a chance to move in for the kill~

But, I am fleet of poetic foot ...~
Love you dearest lady ... and trust you are feeling MUCH better ?

Very nice Helen.. very nice indeed..

It is amazing what some people imagine is chasing them and the motives they assign to such delusions..

your poem uses the imagery well.. and does not in any way fall into the delusional category...

Oh my!
Such twists from your pen.
Reminds me of the coyote that I spooked on leaving the office late the other night.
Nice work, H!
