I recently got into a discussion with a lady had very negative views on being 'just a housewife'!I know that society doesn't look on it as a viable occupation, but there are still a lot of us who really enjoy our jobs at home, so for us, I write this verse...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She's a typical housewife in so many ways
There aren't enough hours in housewife-ing days
It's early to rise, then it's past setting sun
When the typical housewife is done...
She may be a mother, or maybe she's not
But she cares for and nurtures the family she's got
If she earned weekly paychecks for all she can do
She could outrank executives, too!
For her cooking and cleaning, and housewifely chores
For her washing, then ironing, and scrubbing the floors
In her field, she's an expert and works on her own
It's a skill, making house into home...
So, here's to all housewives, (of which I am one)
We can look back with pride when the long days are done
And here's to our families, whom we love and adore
To a typical housewife, there's no need for more!
enjoyed this perspective
since the job has to be done by someone anyway, best to make it fun, you can always pretend it's a rewarding executive job
cuz it is in many ways, isn't it?
well done, Sunnyone
Hi Michelle, and you are SO right!!!!  The person that used that phrase was married, but now happily on her own.  To each his own, I suppose....thank you so much for your reply! ~S~
Hi EV2, and thank you!  No, I guess 'typical' doesn't quite describe the job, does it??  Ha!!  ~S~
Hi Chanson, and all thumbs up are gratefully accepted!!!!  ~S~
Hi Midnitesun, and yes....there are so many rewards!!  Thank you, my friend!  ~S~
(smiles) Being a boy, I truly am sooooooo proud of all the housewives out there who do so much and give for their families, and I also believe that every woman has the right to do what her heart tells her and is free to make her own choices! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, three cheers for housewives, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sunnyone, thank you for sharing!
May love and light always shine upon you!
Ask anyone, and we would look at society today and demand that we got our "everyday housewife" back full force.  Unfortunately, many of us have evolved into a "me first" society with a throw-away attitude of instant gratification and disposable chunks of change...so it takes $$$ for us to get to where we think we want to be, if there is a materialistic bone in our body.
Too many toys.
Brava, m'dear!  Job will done!
This is great, Sunnyone. There is no more honorable position you can find anywhere...
Awww good for you Sunnyone
I bet you have the nicest home on the block.
And even if your home all day, it’s still hard to keep
up with everything, and still have time to do something
for yourself, like writing or reading etc...
You hang in there, and stay just like you are
Defending all the wonderful women of the world
(and some stay at home father’s too) who do so
much for their loved ones. And if any one says anything,
hit ‘em upside the head with an old dishrag or something...
That’ll get their attention, fast quick, and in a hurry, right...
WoooHoo!
lol
Take Care,
Richy
Hi Noah, and thank you for your support too!!  Yes, I agree with you about freedom to choose, as we are all individuals, and what's right for some, is wrong for others!!  ~S~
Hi Sunshine, and yes...what you said is so very true.  A great man once said that the home was the strength of the society, and I agree. Everyone is so busy trying to make the buck that the foundation has become unstable!  Thank you, sun-sis!  ~S~
Hi El_Campeador, and thank you!  I find that doing all the little things to make my home pleasant is very rewarding, and fulfilling! ~S~
Hi JamesMichael, and yes, it's just human nature to want what we don't have...I think the lady I had the discussion with really wished down deep that she could have her old life back.  Sad, but true....thank you!  ~S~
Hi Sue, and thank you!  Sometimes those memories can be relived, and are so much better when the right person is there to help you.......~S~
Hi KristieSue...LOL...oh my, that's funny!  Seems this is a debate that is pretty frequent these days, eh?  Hope you won it!  ~S~
Hi Ethel, and thank you!  I just got a new synthesizer and have been really busy figuring it out and writing music.  (In between keeping house, that is!)  Lol...~S~
Hi Richy, and yes...there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to do all of my favorite things!  You made a really valid point here, too, as there are a lot of househusbands out there who are giving their families a secure and loving home.  Hats off to them, and thank you for making that point, too!  ~S~
Hi Hope, and thank you!!  Sometimes you just need to write about everyday life, and putting it into words, also puts it into perspective, right?  Glad you enjoyed this one, too........~S~
Sunny
Just think if our husbands/significant others had to pay us a salary for being "just housewives".  A housewife is the rock foundation of a home, and, as well as should be, #1 in the house.  A housewife is the flour that keeps the whole thing cooking and running smoothly.  Enjoyed
