Listening to every heart

0 posted 2004-01-28 10:45 PM

Relationships of any kind
seem to develop in a here, and now,
“you see me if you will;
you know me, even if you won’t”…

coming from those who may be
lost, and found.

Lives are lost, in death…
not mislaid or just gone,
neither are they nowhere to be unearthed,
or is it, that they have just
gone astray…

and we find ourselves
forlorn in the missing ~
of the bona fide dead,
we miss that vibrancy of a once life,
and we remain quite bewildered
in our confusion…

but death is not always the culprit.

Sometimes,
one is off course,
adrift in a milieu of uncertainty

and they, the lost ones,
feel abandoned by all.

We know they are there.
We hurt in their absence.
We wait.

Will there be a someday?

When they acknowledge
that it was their choice
to vanish,
while the rest of the familial connection
stand helpless
to set the course of the one
who was off course,
trying to tack it
back to right.

Yet, it will always be,
that the ones that were left behind,
feeling as one … misplaced,
or displaced,
who held their uncertainty
in all tomorrows, who,
in all of their awakenings of a wonder
of what if,
or might know a fitful moment
before a knotted sleep
brings them to the brink
of not knowing…

what a ring of phone
might bring.

Instant death?  Instant hope?

When does blood leave remorse behind?

When does love, leave?

When is it proper, then,
to let lost, loved, lives, return?

Perhaps, in a dream.
Perhaps…
in a life, reclaimed.

Each star has its own time, distance and vary in their brilliance. Not all fall in dramatic streaks. Some just fade away. Much enjoyed Kind Heart.

Oh, Karilea, this is so beautifully written...
and yes, it is so kind and compassionate.
(By the way, I like the picture.)

That really is such a sad situation Karilea.

The hurt that we cause those closest to us,
really is the worst.

Here’s hoping to lonely phones ringing, and closed
doors knocking, in the middle of the night. The wiping
away of tears, and the much needed mending...
of a broken heart.

Blessings My Friend,
Richy

This is very "now" to me as a son of dear friends just returned to the family after several years.  It is always great to read you, Sunshine.  Like El Sol, you brighten my day. KJ

Yes I do believe there will be a someday....especially for those who are patient and believe, providing their inner selves with their proposed journey.

Astounding write!

Hi Sunshine.

On the challenge page, it said to go to Open Poetry and find the #12 poem and write in response to it.  I decided to do that and it was this poem.  I put my response on the challenge page, but forgot to reply here.  It was so strange that this was the #12 poem because it hits so close to home.  You've put so many of my thoughts into such captivating words.  I really love this poem.  Even if it hurts to read.  Everything is just so raw now.  But, I really appreciated this read.  You're so gifted.  Thanks for sharing.

When does love, leave?

Not until last breath... if even then. *S*

This is lovely and eloquent... a peek at pain so many live with... the wonder and worry filter into every moment.
