There is a lot of raw, pent up emotion
in this piece which I have felt the need
to release for some time.It was written
about my sister who hurt me deeply some
time ago and who has never apologised
for what she did.We have very little
contact now which I have finally accepted
and through my love of writing I have
been able to move on.I feel a much
stronger person from the experience.

* * *

I had never been that confident
Until my inner voice was heard
You belittled me once too often
You always had the final word

To you my feelings were superfluous
They were insignificant to you
Your crocodile tears brought sympathy
But I was able to see straight through

I was the black sheep of the family
But you managed to achieve your goal
I was crushed beyond repair
As you ripped out my heart and soul

I cannot forget the hurt
But my words take away the pain
I have moved on with my life
'tho the battle scars remain

The friends I've made are many
They seem to love me more than you
I see them every day
They are a part of all I do

You show no interest in my life
You're much too selfish to see
But you will never bring me down
From these chains I've broken free

I am in motion
I am blue
Love is an ocean
I'm anchored in you

Heartfelt write, very strong, but sad the same

Great piece Sue. This sounds like my brother and I. We have now not spoken to one another for 5 years. Oh well. Love the poem...keep them coming.

(big angel hugs) Oh Sue, I'm so sorry to hear of the incident with your sister, dearest friend, I send angel hugs out to you as I know how it hurts to be divided from family and how selfish our own blood can be but know deep down she will always love you and will always accept you as her sister as you do her! (sad sigh) We send angel comfort hugs your way, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Oh Sue, I am sorry to hear about this. I have been in squabbles with my siblings over the years, but it always gets worked out, one way or another.

I hope you two can get this resolved. Usually as time goes by, we get a little wiser, and much more forgiving.

I wish you all the best,
Richy

Sue darling heart sister this is outstandingly well written, you manage to compress your thoughts into perfect phrases that fit them beautifully I so awed by your talent, and love to see it displayed so beautifully. Your words have healed your soul and you shine as brightly as the star you are darling one.

Absolutely wonderful writing from you,

I’m well and very happy, thanks for asking

Love you always
And forever

Sue, it sounds like you and I have the same kind of sister. So, I understand your feelings. I, too, went on with my life.

Sue,

Right now my entire family is split up and either on this side or that.  Unfortunately, my brother and I are having much trouble in our relationship and it is killing me.  I understand...and this poem was a great sentiment...

Extremely well written. Thought provoking. Honest, humble and sincere. I have the same problem... I'm sure most families do. I will pray for you. Grover.

Sue -- I think we must be kindred spirits!  Or, perhaps, these sibling things happen more than most people admit -- couldn't say.  At any rate, your writing really touched me.   ...jo

I am so very grateful for so many replies.  I cannot forgive my sister for what she did and the problem is that she doesn't even think she did anything wrong.  I have moved on and my writing has been my saviour, as are the many wonderful friends I have met here.  I feel much comfort from your words for which I thank you.

jo - it is comforting to know that I am not alone and I am sorry that you have had a similar experience.  My Mum blames me for what happened and asks why I don't contact my sister, yet she doesn't ask my sister why she hasn't contacted me.  I feel like a square peg in a round hole.

Take care.......Sue
